I think the title is very important. Elijah of Buxton tells you the main character AND the town he's from. The only change i would make, would be to call it just Elijah because they already mention Buxton in the story.

In the story so far, a new freed family comes to live in Buxton, and Mrs. Holton's still slaved husband, John, was killed by his "owner". In my mind, I have a vivid image of slave catchers coming to Buxton in the future. This book reminds me of the book Freedom Crossing. Since Buxton is in Canada, slave catchers might come from America. In one chapter, Ma was talking to Mrs. Holton about being a slave as a child. The heart-wrenching thought of being ripped away from your own mother and sent to work is terrible. Now I definitely do think slave catchers will come.
